Leading Independent Proxy Advisory Egan-Jones Recommends Shareholders vote AGAINST Anti-DEI Proposal at Upcoming Apple Meeting
Under all its policies, Egan-Jones Proxy Services recommends that shareholders vote AGAINST the shareholder proposal to cease DEI efforts at Apple at the upcoming annual shareholder meeting on February 25th.
Egan-Jones offers a variety of policies - philosophies through which to evaluate proposals - in order to align our recommendations with the viewpoints of our customers. Examples of this implementation are as follows:
- Recommendations for the Wealth-Focused Policy are based only on the objective to enhance and protect shareholder wealth. Under this Policy, Egan-Jones recommends AGAINST the proposal to cease DEI efforts at Apple. The Wealth-Focused Policy does not seek to restrict management’s operations. As Apple has delivered high returns to shareholders, we see no reason to impose restrictions on their operations.
- Recommendations for the ESG Policy consider environmental, social, and governance matters as key business risks that affect a company’s long-term profitability. Under this Policy, Egan-Jones recommends against the proposal to cease DEI efforts at Apple as, under the ESG Policy, the company is considering a key business risk through its existing DEI efforts.
Please see our website for more information on the
various policies offered.
Egan-Jones offers research reports, vote recommendations, and NP-X reporting to minimize the hassle of proxy voting, align vote recommendations with our customers, and ease the burden of compliance.
